Virginia Bureau of Insurance renews partnership with Pearson VUE to offer professionals continued access to licensure

BLOOMINGTON, MN, March 10, 2014 — Insurance professionals in the Commonwealth and surrounding areas will continue to seek licensure using the world’s most secure test center network, due to the renewed partnership of the Virginia Bureau of Insurance and Pearson VUE.

The multi-year contract renewal was awarded to Pearson VUE after a competitive bidding process and calls for the computer-based testing company to continue to provide test development and exam delivery for candidates seeking new licensure as Producers, Agents and Public Adjusters. As a result of this contract, Pearson VUE will provide ongoing continuing education services for Public Adjusters maintaining their credentials in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Since its inception in 2006, the relationship between the Bureau of Insurance and Pearson VUE has involved implementing a tailored content development process that suits the Bureau of Insurance’s unique requirements. Virtual meetings with content development were immediately implemented to augment face-to-face meetings as a time- and cost-saving measure, while maintaining high standards and necessary levels of client involvement. Additionally, representatives from the Commonwealth actively participated in Pearson VUE’s 2010 National Insurance Job Task Analysis – a key activity for ensuring the quality and validity of the national portion of Pearson VUE’s insurance examinations.

Brian Gaudiose, Deputy Commissioner of Virginia Bureau of Insurance, commented: “Pearson VUE possesses a strong sense of integrity that has helped us build a relationship based on mutual trust. The resulting high performance and customer services levels have made a measurable difference for the Commonwealth over the past six years. We’re looking forward to the continuation of that trend.”

Art Valentine, Senior Vice President of Professional Services at Pearson VUE, added: “Working closely with our clients to develop and achieve increasing standards of program quality, management efficiencies, technology enhancements and excellence in service and support is more than an effective methodology. It’s a foundation of our business practices. Having the Virginia Bureau of Insurance award Pearson VUE a new contract is a testament to our commitment to the integrity and continued success of their program.”
