Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards Renews With Pearson VUE

Bloomington, Minn., March 13, 2012 – Pearson VUE, the leader in secure high-stakes testing, announced this month that the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB) renewed their contract with Pearson VUE to deliver its Massage and Bodywork Licensing Examinations (MBLEx). The examination is available throughout the Pearson VUE-owned and -operated network of more than 200 Pearson Professional Centers nationwide.

The MBLEx was developed by the FSMTB on behalf of its member boards and was launched in October 2007. It was quickly established as the preferred licensing examination for the massage and bodywork field.

“We are delighted to continue our relationship with Pearson VUE,” states Debra Persinger, FSMTB executive director. “Maintaining this valuable partnership is an indicator of our ongoing commitment to delivering quality examinations that serve the licensing boards, the professionals seeking licensure and the public we protect.”

The mission of the Federation is to support its Member Boards in their work to ensure that the practice of massage therapy is provided to the public in a safe and effective manner. The FSMTB provides education, services, and guidance to Member Boards that help them fulfill their statutory, professional, public, and ethical obligations.

“We are thrilled to continue delivering FSMTB’s licensure exams,” said Robert Whelan, president and chief executive officer of Pearson VUE. “We strive to provide the best service and security in the industry, and when clients renew with us it proves we are delivering on our promise.”
