National Registry of Food and Safety Professionals renews computer-based testing partnership with Pearson VUE

BLOOMINGTON, MN, September 17, 2014 – The National Registry of Food Safety professionals (NRFSP) has extended its partnership with global computer-based testing leader Pearson VUE.

NRFSP offers a food safety manager examination program accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) under standards established by the Conference for Food Protection as well as ISO 17024. NRFSP supports a critical public safety role as the international leader in food safety credentialing.

Pearson VUE will deliver the Food Safety Manager Certification as well as the new Certified Food Safety Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) Manager exams within its network of over 5,000 test centers in 178 countries. HACCP is a systematic preventive approach to food safety and a relatively new requirement in the USA as an outcome of the Food Safety Modernization Act. Depending on local regulation, restaurants, cafes, caterers, and delis may all require Food Safety Managers on-site.

Lawrence J. Lynch, CAE, President of NRFSP, said: “As food safety becomes an increasingly complex and global concern from farm to fork, NRFSP’s standards of excellence require partners who share our vision. Pearson VUE’s high-quality test center model, its top-notch engineering staff, and its service model make it an ideal partner to support NRFSP’s certification programs.”

Bob Whelan, President and CEO of Pearson VUE, said: “I am proud that the NRFSP has decided to continue its working relationship with Pearson VUE. Through NRFSP’s certification programs, food safety professionals can achieve a boost in their professional lives, while also protecting the public.”
