Experience the next generation of assessment technology from Pearson VUE at the Association of Test Publishers (ATP) Innovations in Testing Conference 2014

SCOTTSDALE, ARIZ., February 27, 2014 — Attendees of the ATP Innovations in Testing Conference 2014 will have the opportunity to experience the next generation of assessment technology through web-based exam development tools, a new badging platform and remote-proctored exam delivery with computer-based testing leaders Pearson VUE at Booth 23.

The Pearson VUE remote proctoring demonstration at 2:45pm on Tuesday, March 4th in the exhibit hall, with demo partner ProctorCam, will lead conference participants — by demonstrating the roles of both “candidate” and “proctor” — through the experience of taking a remote proctored online exam on the Pearson VUE system. This includes the registration system, security checks, webcam and microphone check, exam launch, continuous live proctoring and successful exam termination.

Remote proctoring allows candidates to be monitored via webcam by a proctor in a separate location, giving test-owners the freedom to test almost anywhere but still ensuring the high level of security and integrity expected from industry-leaders Pearson VUE. This fully integrated solution is used primarily in medium-stakes formative and summative assessment.

At the Pearson VUE booth, attendees can also try out Acclaim, an innovative badging platform from Pearson, offering academic institutions, professional associations and other high-stakes credentialing programs an innovative new Open Badge platform. Acclaim gives organizations the ability to translate and recognize someone's professional achievements and learning outcomes with Open Badges, which can be shared and validated online.

Pearson VUE will also showcase ExamDeveloper, a web-based exam development tool uniquely developed by psychometricians, at the event. This platform integrates the functionality of test development, administration and analysis within a suite of highly-secure web-based tools, allowing individuals to collaborate remotely and reducing the development costs of an examination.

Remote proctoring, ExamDeveloper and Acclaim will be featured as part of the company’s Platinum Sponsor Session on Monday, March 3, at 1:30 pm.

Bob Whelan, President and CEO of Pearson VUE, said: “We are proud to be a long-standing platinum sponsor of the ATP conference and this is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the next generation of innovations for computer-based assessment delivery.”

The ATP Innovations in Testing Conference — taking place March 2 – 5, 2014, in Scottsdale, Ariz. — provides an opportunity for leaders in the testing industry to showcase their product and technology advances. It is the premier industry event for professionals in the testing and assessment field.
