National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies extends exam partnership with Pearson VUE

BLOOMINGTON, MN, April 25, 2016 – The National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) has chosen to extend its partnership with computer-based testing world leader Pearson VUE in a new multi-year agreement.

NICET’s program of over 25 nationally recognized engineering technology certification exams will continue to be delivered at Pearson VUE’s Pearson Professional Centers across the country, including at US military installations. Since partnering with Pearson VUE, NICET has continued to enhance their service to candidates by converting the majority of its programs to CBT and expanding distribution points into Pearson VUE’s US military installations.

Michael Clark, chief operating executive of NICET, said: “We chose to extend our partnership with Pearson VUE in a new multi-year agreement because of the high levels of service they offer, the highly secure testing environment offered at Pearson Professional centers as well as the ability to provide exam access directly to Service members in the military.”

Bob Whelan, managing director of Pearson VUE, said: “We have a longstanding relationship with NICET, first entering into our partnership with them in 2009, and I am proud that NICET has chosen to extend its partnership with us again. We look forward to delivering a high quality, standardised testing environment for NICET’s candidates across the USA.”

More than 142,000 technicians and technologists have met NICET’s rigorous certification criteria since it was founded as a non-profit division of the National Society of Professional Engineers in 1961.

About the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies
Since the Institute (www.nicet.org) was founded in 1961, more than 142,000 technicians and technologists have met NICET's rigorous certification criteria, and the number grows rapidly as more employers and local and state governments rely on NICET certification to measure the qualifications of their workforce. The certificate and wallet card issued by NICET serve as a portable credential for certified technicians and technologists who seek to maximize their skills and knowledge and advance in their professions. By employing those workers who have demonstrated their technical mastery, employers can provide their customers higher quality goods and services. And, ultimately, the public enjoys a higher degree of safety and protection.
