The University of Oxford appoints Pearson VUE as delivery provider for undergraduate admissions tests

The University of Oxford has appointed Pearson VUE to manage the delivery of its undergraduate tests for its 2024/5 admissions cycle.

Tests form one part of Oxford's admissions process and are used alongside a range of information to help assess the academic potential of applicants for many of its undergraduate courses. The following tests will be delivered across Pearson VUE’s global test center network:

  • Classics Admissions Test (CAT)
  • History Admissions Test (HAT)
  • Mathematics Admissions Test (MAT)
  • Modern Languages Admissions Test (MLAT)
  • Physics Admissions Test (PAT) for Physics, Materials and Engineering Science
  • Philosophy Test (PHILAT)
  • Thinking Skills Assessment (TSA)
  • Biomedical Science Assessment (BMSAT)
  • Ancient History and Classical Archaeology Test (AHCAAT)

As with previous years, there will be no candidate registration fee for Oxford's tests. Further details surrounding the new arrangements will be announced by the University over the summer.

From 2024, Oxford will start using the University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT) for shortlisting applicants to study Medicine (and Graduate entry Medicine) at the University. The UCAT is administered at Pearson VUE’s testing locations across the UK and in over 130 countries worldwide.

For several years, Oxford has been using the LNAT (the Law National Aptitude Test) — another popular test of aptitude, which is also delivered across Pearson VUE’s extensive global test center network.
