Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (ASMIRT) Computer-Based Testing

All ASMIRT Certification examinations (MRI, CT, Angiography) are held online through the Pearson VUE testing centres. To register for the exam, candidates will need to submit an application form with the appropriate fee. Once this has been processed, candidates will be issued with an authorisation, required to enter the Pearson VUE system to book the examination and the venue. Please look at the following demo to assist you with navigating the online exam: http://www.pearsonvue.com/demo/

Authorisation

To schedule for an ASMIRT MCQ examination event with Pearson VUE you must have obtained an authorisation from ASMIRT. You will need to submit to ASMIRT, an application form located on the ASMIRT website to sit this examination along with the appropriate fee. Once this has been processed, you will be issued with an authorisation by ASMIRT. Once the authorisation is processed, you will receive an Authorisation to Test (ATT) letter via email close to, or on the day registration opens. ASMIRT will provide the registration open and close dates to you. Your ATT letter will provide you with instructions to enter the Pearson VUE system to book your examination. If you do not have an authorisation, you will not be able to sit the examination.

Scheduling

Once you have received an email from Pearson VUE confirming your authorisation, you may schedule for an ASMIRT MCQ examination event by selecting one of the following options:

Schedule online / Schedule by phone

The dates and venues of the ASMIRT MCQ examination events covered by your authorisation will have been provided by ASMIRT when obtaining the authorisation. You only have authorisation to schedule into ONE of the events covered by your authorisation. Some events have very limited capacity, therefore allocations are done on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis. It is vital that you schedule immediately after you have received your authorisation notification. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, allocations in each Australian state will have a date in the week allocated to it in which ASMIRT candidates will be able to schedule their examination.

Reschedule or Cancel

You may change or cancel your ASMIRT MCQ examination date or venue selection up to 14 days before your scheduled examination date, provided there is a seat available in your preferred venue. If you do not cancel or reschedule your exam 14 days before the examination date you will forfeit your authorisation and payment. In the event that you cancel an examination, you will need to contact ASMIRT immediately. Currently examinations are only held three times yearly.

COVID Safe Rules and what to expect at your Test Centre

  • If you are experiencing any cold and flu symptoms, please do not go to the test centre. You will be turned away. Please contact ASMIRT to reschedule or cancel your exam.

  • Test Centres carry out stringent security checks. Please bring a valid form of photo ID. You may be asked to remove heavy jewellery (necklaces, bracelets, earrings and watches), and your glasses and jackets may be checked.
  • You will be asked to put your belongings and bottles of water/liquids away in a locker.
