ICAEW Access Arrangement Guidance

For all exams delivered by Pearson VUE

If you are awarded with any of the following access arrangements, the relevant information is submitted automatically to Pearson VUE’s booking system in your exam authorisation(s). If you have an existing exam booking, had a previous exam booking, or been awarded with an access arrangement not listed, please see further information below.

  • Extra time (up to 100%)
  • Stop the clock (Pause the clock)
  • Glucose monitoring equipment
  • ZoomText (for colour enhancements)
  • Reader and/or scribe
  • A combination of 17% extra time + 17% Pause the clock
  • A combination of 25% extra time + 8% Pause the clock

ICAEW’s system has only recently (March 2022) been updated to accommodate a combination of stop the clock and extra time. If your award was granted before this update, or you have other combinations for higher levels, you may have been granted additional time only. Please refer to your confirmation letter for details of the arrangements approved.

Access arrangements awarded after exam bookings
If you already have an exam booking before an access arrangement has been awarded, you will need to cancel and re-book your exam. If you have previously had an exam booking which was cancelled or a no show, ICAEW will need to send a new exam authorisation for that exam module to pick up your new award. We recommend waiting until ICAEW confirm your arrangements before booking your exams.

You can book, cancel or re-schedule your exams here: https://access.icaew.com/pearsonvue.

Note: If your Tuition Provider manages your exam bookings, please contact them before making any changes. If you are in a training agreement, please check with your employer first.
