Navigating new expectations around assessments at E-ATP

September 21, 2021

Every year educators, learners, and employers across Europe come together at E-ATP to discuss the latest trends around assessments. This year’s virtual conference (27th – 29th September) will see leaders share and debate ideas around the theme of ‘Navigating New Expectations’.

How has the assessments industry navigated the past 18 months of living and working through the global pandemic? Many organizations were already embracing digital transformation before COVID-19. While some sped up efforts already under way, others have implemented digital capabilities for the first time in response to remote or hybrid working. Meanwhile the pandemic has also shone a spotlight on major divisions across society and the need for more inclusive assessment practices.

That’s why this year, we’re debating our part in ‘Fair and Equitable Assessments for All’. Hear from equity and psychometric experts from across our wider Pearson business, as well as the National Conference of Bar Examiners and the National Board of Medical Examiners, about how we ensure we’re meeting our goal of creating and delivering assessments that are unbiased and fair to all. (Monday 27th September, 3:55 - 4:55 p.m. BST).

We also have many other thought-provoking sessions scheduled:

  • Our first workshop session will cover ‘Inclusivity and accessibility: Does your program measure up?’ Test delivery, content development, and measurement services are critical components of providing a more inclusive experience for candidates from a variety of backgrounds or with specialist needs. Hear from our product and exam development experts: David Bennett, Director, Global Business Solutions, Neil Wilkinson, Content Development Manager for EMEA and India, and Tamika Hughes, Senior Product Manager, about the latest best practice and innovations in this vital area. (Tuesday 28th September, 1:25 - 2:10 p.m. BST)
  • Our sponsor session will focus on ‘In-person or online delivery: Do you have to choose?’ Hear how the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) adopted multi-modal exam delivery around the pandemic. Matthew Poyiadgi, our VP of EMEA will be speaking to CIMA’s VP of Examinations, Steve Flatman and Pearson VUE Product Strategy Manager, Casey Kearns, about whether test center (in-person) exam delivery, online testing, or a combination of both, is right for your exam program. (Wednesday 29th September,1:40 - 2:20 p.m. BST)
  • Our final breakout session will look at how to ‘Beat the cheats: what’s different about online proctored delivery?’ Bryan Friess, our Director of Information Security, Investigations and Security Service, will look at the differences in investigating incidents of misconduct with online-proctored delivery vs traditional brick-and-mortar test center delivery. He’ll be joined by Nicole Rhyne, Director of Exam Delivery and Security from the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). (Wednesday 29th September 1:40 - 2:20 p.m. BST)

We hope to see many of you there – virtually!
