Effective 1 February 2020 Autodesk is, as part of the VAR role-based enablement strategy, removing the proctored exam requirement for VAR Sales and Technical Representatives for the Product Design & Manufacturing specialization.
For further details on the VAR Certification Program and number of required unique certified staff, partners should refer to the FY21 EMEA Autodesk Partner Advantage Program Guide Section 2.2: Program Requirements and Section 3.2: General Program Requirements – Details and Definitions.
Differentiate yourself and your business by attaining Autodesk’s new Product Design & Manufacturing (PD&M) specialization certification. Specialize to stand out in the market. Show your customers that you know how to help them succeed!
Passing a Proctored Exam is a requirement for Autodesk Value Added Resellers wishing to obtain PD&M Specialization Certification in EMEA EEA and CH countries. Physical attendance at a local testing centre is required. For detailed information download the Proctored Exams Reference Guide on Autodesk’s Partner Centre.
Exam appointments should be booked online in advance of the day you wish to test and are subject to availability. 1hr 45mins is allowed to answer the exam questions, plus 15 minutes to agree to the Exam Non-Disclosure Conditions and answer the Autodesk end-of-exam survey.
Important: When you create a Pearson VUE account to register to take your exam, the information you register with must match the information in your Autodesk Learning Central (ALC) profile. Your first name, last name, and your Learner ID must match exactly in these two profiles.
- Your first and last names are displayed in the top right corner of your ALC home page.
- Your Learner ID number is located on your ALC home page, on the right hand side of the page in the Company Profile section.
If you do not follow this guideline, Autodesk will not be able to match your profiles, and your company’s specialization compliancy could be endangered.
There are two versions of the Proctored Exam; one version for Sales and the other for Technical Sales roles. The exams are computer-based assessments of knowledge, competencies, and skills related to the PD&M discipline, and use a multiple choice format. Exams are available in English, French, Italian, German and Spanish languages.
The Sales exam is based on 12 online ALC courses listed in the Proctored Exam Reference Guide. We strongly recommend that sales representatives take all these courses to prepare for the exam, even if you have taken some or all of them in the past.
The Technical Sales exam consists of both product usage and industry knowledge questions. Candidates need to have solid hands-on experience with Autodesk PD&M products. The industry knowledge part is based on 8 online ALC courses listed in the Proctored Exam Reference Guide. We strongly recommend that technical representatives take all these online courses to prepare for the exam, even if you have taken some of them in the past:
When you arrive at the testing centre you will be required to agree to abide by the rules of the testing centre and not divulge the contents of the exam outside the testing centre.
The exam is completed in a controlled and monitored (proctored) environment. You will be required to show valid photo ID when you arrive, and have your photograph taken for reference purposes. No personal belongings are allowed in the exam room (secure lockers are provided). Read the Pearson VUE ID policy (PDF).
