Test Takers

If you are an exam proctor, please see the exam proctor page.

At some events, a computer will be supplied for you. At others, you may be asked to bring your own. If you use your own computer to test, please follow the steps below. If a computer will be supplied for you, please just complete Step 1.


Create web account

You must have a Pearson VUE username and password for CompTIA before you can take an exam. Make sure that you have created a web account before you start the test process.

If you already have a Pearson VUE web account, but cannot remember your username or password, you can Pearson VUE account or password online.


Run system check

Run a system check on the machine that will be used to deliver the Anywhere Proctored exam. Turn browser pop-up blocker off during the system check.

Verify system requirements

Verify whether the testing computer being used passes the following minimum system requirements.

Supported Internet Browsers Microsoft Edge latest version, Internet Explorer 11
Latest versions of Chrome and Firefox
Browser Settings Internet Cookies must be enabled.
Any Pop-Up blocking setting(s) must be disabled.
Additional Software Adobe Flash Player latest version is required.
Firewalls Corporate firewalls (including VPNs) often cause this delivery method to fail. Please take your exam in a setting without a corporate firewall.
