Certification Examinations for Oklahoma Educators (CEOE)
The Evaluation Systems group of Pearson is conducting a pilot test of multiple-choice items and constructed response (essay) items that may appear on future test forms for the Certification Examinations for Oklahoma Educators (CEOE) testing program.
Eligibility requirements for participation
Participants may only take CEOE pilot tests for which they are qualified. To be qualified to take a pilot test, participants must be juniors, seniors, or graduate students preparing for certification in that specific field or individuals recently certified in the field, OR be an individual who recently received teacher certification in Oklahoma and has no more than 3 years’ teaching experience in that field.
Educator preparation faculty are not eligible to participate in the pilot test.
Current pilot test opportunities
- CEOE Special Education Comprehensive Assessment (select PTCE085 when scheduling)
- CEOE U.S. History/Oklahoma History/Government/Economics (select PTCE117 when scheduling)
- CEOE Elementary Education Subtest 1 (select PTCE150 when scheduling)

Advantages of participation
You will have the opportunity to view and respond to questions that may appear on future test forms for the Certification Examinations for Oklahoma Educators (CEOE) tests.
Upon completion of a pilot test form, participants are offered a choice between a $50.00 Amazon gift card or a $75.00 CEOE test voucher that may be applied towards future CEOE testing fees. Test vouchers are non-transferable and expire 1 year from the date of issue. Incentives are issued upon verification of the acceptable completion of each test form*. Your incentive will be sent to your email address approximately 4-9 weeks after the end of the pilot testing window. You will not receive a score for this pilot test.
Other advantages of pilot test participation include:
- providing input into the test that will be taken by future educators,
- gauging professional knowledge by taking actual test items, and
- gaining practical testing experience.
*Please note: To be eligible for an incentive, participants must be qualified in the specific field for which they are taking a pilot test and they must complete the pilot test as instructed. Participants will not receive an incentive if they have not attended to all points asked for in each assignment and demonstrated some subject matter knowledge. Additionally, pilot test participants must correctly answer at least 30% of the multiple-choice items. Participants may take up to two (2) pilot test forms. Additional incentive requests beyond two (2) pilot test sessions will not be honored.
Most pilot tests are administered during a 165-minute testing session. The CEOE Elementary Education Subtest 2 pilot test is administered during a 90-minutes testing session. Approximately 20 minutes of the session is dedicated to the presentation of a computer-based testing tutorial and a short survey.
There is no fee for participating in a pilot test. Eligible participants may complete up to two (2) pilot test forms. The second registration can only be scheduled after the first pilot test session is completed (consecutive pilot test appointments are not available).
Pilot test results will be analyzed as group data only and will be kept confidential. Score information will not be provided to participants or institutions.
