IMPORTANT — FINGERPRINT REQUIREMENTS

To be licensed as an insurance producer, independent adjuster, public adjuster, or resident real estate appraiser in Minnesota you are required to submit fingerprints for licensing. For your convenience, we suggest that you schedule your fingerprint appointment on the same day as your exam.


IMPORTANT UPDATE: Effective October 31, 2022, digital fingerprint appointments will no longer be scheduled through Idemia. Instead, they will be scheduled through Pearson VUE. Please use Pearson VUE to schedule or reschedule all fingerprint appointments going forward.

To schedule your digital fingerprint appointment, please sign into your Pearson VUE account or create a new Pearson VUE account from this page. Select Available Exams and choose MNFP: MN Department of Commerce Fingerprint Appointment The fingerprint fee of $67.25 must be paid at the time of the reservation by credit card or debit card.

Currently appointments will be available at the Bloomington, Brooklyn Park, Brainerd, Fargo, Hermantown, and Rochester, and St. Paul locations.

Examination scheduling information

Please VERIFY that you have created your web account with your LEGAL name as it appears on your government-issued ID and that your personal information is CORRECT. Contact Pearson VUE immediately to correct the spelling of your name or update your personal information if you notice any errors. It is very important that this information is correct, as it will appear as it was entered on the documentation provided to you after you have completed the exam, as well as on any reports to your licensing agency.

Appointments may be made up to one calendar day prior to the day you wish to test, subject to availability. You may schedule your exam online or over the phone by contacting customer service.

Real Estate Practice Tests

Pearson VUE offers Broker and Sales practice tests for $19.95. The tests include questions on general real estate topics. The tests are developed using concepts found in the general portion of the actual exam and cover areas such as product knowledge, terms, and concepts. The practice tests coincide with the current, general test outline. State-specific practice tests are not available.
