The Professional Certification Program has been established to attest that individuals have the appropriate skills and body of knowledge to be a primary contributor for a successful Pega implementation and roll-out. Based on your interest, role or career path, you can register for one of the exams below and become a part of our growing professional community.

Please note:

Test Center closed due to COVID-19? Online Proctored (OnVUE) exam delivery is available in most countries. Take an exam online in the comfort of your home. A Pearson VUE proctor will monitor via webcam and audio. View requirements, policies, and procedures in the OnVUE exam delivery page. Please note that exams are proctored only in English.

New certification names for Version 8 exams:

Starting with Version 8, Pega Certification exams now have a new naming convention. Certifications are now prefaced with Pega Certified [Role]. For example, the System Architect Version 8 certification is now called Pega Certified System Architect. Previous certification names (e.g., 6.x, 7.x) will remain as-is.

Exam and certification retirements:

  • The following 8.​5 exams were retired on November 30, 2021. All attempts, including retakes, must be completed by this date: PEGAPCBA85V1, PEGAPCSA85V1, PEGAPCSSA85V1, PEGAPCLSA85V1, PEGAPCDC85V1, PEGAPCDS85V1.

The Pega Certified Lead System Architect (PCLSA) certification is for Pega Certified Senior System Architects (PCSSAs) with at least 12+ months of field experience who are ready to extend their experience and knowledge of building Pega-based applications.

LSA Certification and Learning Path

The Pega Architecture Exam is the first of two exams that are required for PCLSA certification: The LSA Application Build is required after successful completion of the Pega Architecture exam.

Pegasystems Certification Certificates

Certifications will display in your Pega transcript within 1-3 business days after the date of the exam, unless there is a Pega account issue that needs to be manually resolved. If there is an account issue, your certification may take an additional 3-7 days to display in your transcript.

You will receive a notification from the Pega Certification team when your PDF certificate is available to view and download. Please note: The email address you provide when registering in Pearson VUE is the email address where you will receive notification of the availability of your PDF certificate.

To retrieve a soft copy of your certification: Log into Pega Academy using your Pega account. Navigate to your Pega Account Profile > Achievements > Click the Download link under your certification. Note that in order to retrieve your certificate, the email address used in your Pearson VUE account must also be in your Pega account as either your primary or alternate email address. First-time test takers must create a Pearson VUE web account. Appointments may be made up to one business day in advance.

Exam Preparation

Exam Retake Rule:

  • You must wait at least 3 calendar days after your first attempt to take the exam again. Third attempts must wait at least 14 calendar days after the second attempt.
  • Each exam may be taken for a total of 3 times in a 12 month period. The 12 month period starts from the date the first exam is taken. For example, if the first exam is taken on May 1, 2014, a candidate may take the same exam 2 more times before May 1, 2015.
  • You must pay the full exam fee each time you take the exam.

NDA Important to note:

  • Every Pegasystems exam will require you to accept the Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).
  • You are given up to 5 minutes of your total exam time to accept this agreement.
  • If you do not accept the agreement the testing system will immediately shut off your exam.
  • Review the NDA in detail.
