Testing Exceptions for Nursing Mothers

Pearson VUE is supportive of test takers that require a testing exception to breastfeed or express their breast milk during their exam appointment.

Arrangements for nursing mothers should be made in advance by following the accommodation request process. This is an important step to ensure an appropriate space is available for you on the day of your scheduled exam appointment. If arrangements are not requested ahead of time, any spaces available are on a first come, first serve basis and a suitable space may not be available. Please check your exam sponsor's specific policies prior to scheduling your exam appointment.

Important Information

Candidates that prefer to breastfeed must do so outside of the testing facility as children are not allowed in the testing center. If a request to breastfeed is submitted, the Pearson team will make reasonable efforts to find a suitable space. This may mean a private space in the building, a privacy screen in the public lobby, or may require candidates to schedule at a test center that is not the candidate’s preferred location.

If a request to express breast milk is submitted, the Pearson team will make reasonable efforts to find a suitable space. This may mean a private space in the building, a private space within the testing site such as the employee break room, a privacy screen in the public lobby, or may require candidates to schedule at a test center that is not the candidate’s preferred location.

To request an accommodation please refer to your exam sponsor’s website for additional information. Please do not contact the test center directly to request or inquire about accommodations for nursing mothers as they are unable to assist you with information related to accommodations.
