ABIM Certification Testing

Established as an independent nonprofit more than 80 years ago, the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) continues to be driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Assessments

Registration Process

In order to schedule a test appointment with ABIM, sign in to your ABIM Physician Portal.

Testing Outside the United States

If you choose to schedule your assessment appointment at a testing center outside of the United States or its territories, you will be charged an additional non-refundable international scheduling fee of $500 for a Certification exam or an MOC exam and $100 for the two-year Knowledge Check-in. This fee is waived for active members of the military.

Individual international test center locations may not be available during every exam administration. If the international test center you request is not available, please contact Steven Quinn at ABIM for assistance, 1-800-441-ABIM, ext. 3619 or 215-446-3619 or via email: request@abim.org.

Taking the MOC Knowledge Check-In Remotely

Before registering to take the two-year MOC Knowledge Check-In online from a remote location other than a testing center, you should complete the required system check to ensure that your computer meets the requirements. Learn more about the system check and eligibility requirements for the Knowledge Check-In at abim.org/checkin.
