The California Certifying Board for Medical Assistants (CCBMA) is a private non-profit corporation and has been administering the California Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam since 1990. CCBMA is recognized by the Medical Board of California as an approved agency through which medical assistants may obtain certified status.
Our mission is to provide a pathway for California medical assistants to demonstrate professional competency, to encourage career development through continuing education and recertification, and to promote public safety by continually improving the certification programs to reflect the changing needs of healthcare.
Registration and Scheduling
To apply for the CCBMA exams, please visit ccbma.org or call 530-622-1850. You will be allowed to schedule your exam after your application has been approved.
You will be required to agree to the NDA Agreement (48 KB pdf) that will be presented at the beginning of your exam. Failure to read/accept the agreement within the allotted 5 minutes will result in your exam ending and a forfeit of your exam fees. Please take a moment to review the agreement now so that you are familiar with it when you sit for your exam.
